Police are investigating what they believe to be a domestic violence-related murder-suicide after finding a woman dead in a house on Tuesday in Milliken.

Police believe they found the murder suspect dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound later in the day in Laramie, Wyoming, according to a release from the Milliken Police Department.

Around 12 p.m. Tuesday, Milliken police responded to the 1400 block of Farmland Lane on a report of a shooting. Police entered the home and found a dead woman inside.

The county coroner is working to identify the woman found in Milliken and will release that information after notifying next-of-kin.

Police say there is no danger to Milliken or any other Weld County communities.

Officers from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, Johnstown Police Department, Mead Police Department and Platteville Police Department also responded, according to the release.

Police say no further information will be released as the death investigation continues. They ask anyone with any information on the case to contact the Milliken Police Department at (970) 660-5012.
